Resolution filed to honor woman killed on Antioch greenway

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nashville leaders will honor a woman who was attacked and killed on a greenway in Antioch.

There’s a resolution on Thursday’s Metro Council agenda to honor the life of 34-year-old Alyssa Lokits. On Oct. 14, Alyssa was shot and killed while exercising on an Antioch greenway.

The resolution declares Alyssa was an inspiration to all who knew her and a champion for the less fortunate.

Her sister-in-law recently told News 2 their family wants Alyssa’s death to bring change.

“I don’t have the power to make change. I have the power to bring people together and be a voice for my sister-in-law, and to hopefully find someone, have someone hear us that can make the change. And I don’t know what that change is. Our family doesn’t know what that necessarily is, but we know someone needs to make a change,” explained Alyssa’s sister-in-law, Abby Lokits,
