NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Gaylord Opryland Resort began its 41st Annual “A Country Christmas” with a public lighting ceremony Thursday evening.
Over five million lights lit up the hotel campus when the switch was flipped during the ceremony at about 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7.
The ceremony, hosted by Kelly Sutton featured an appearance by Nashville Mayor Freddie O`Connell, along with a variety of festive entertainment, including performances by “A Country Christmas Dinner Show” headliners Terri Clark and The Frontmen.

The lighting was followed by a phenomenal fireworks display that carried on for over 10 minutes.
The Frontmen, along with Terri Clark, talked about how special it is to be performing there during the holidays.
“We’ve come out to Opryland for years with our families, so to finally get to perform for ‘A Country Christmas’ is awesome,” exclaimed Richie McDonald, formerly of Lonestar.
“A lot of fun,” said Tim Rushlow, formerly of Little Texas. “We’re always on the road, going and going, and going. So, to get to be home, park the bus and get to do our Holiday Cheer Show at home, it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
