NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Officers arrested a man after he reportedly struck a nurse with a metal rod and damaged property at a Nashville hospital in early November, according to court documents.
Jonathan Jones, 60, was charged with felony vandalism and aggravated assault of a first responder on Nov. 16.

On Nov. 5, officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department responded to Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West on Harding Pike.
According to reports, Jones was unsatisfied with the treatment he received at the hospital and became angry.
Authorities said he broke a metal rod off a toilet and used it to smash monitors and other hospital property, totaling an estimated $8,550 in damages.

Jones reportedly struck a nurse in the forearm with the rod after he attempted to calm Jones down. The nurse experienced swelling and bruising from the hit and was brought to the emergency room for treatment, records said.
