Nashville, TN – According to the police officials, 22-year-old man previously free on a $40,000 bond from an October 6 aggravated robbery arrest is back in custody, this time charged in connection with a daylight shooting on October 18 at the intersection of 46th Avenue North and Charlotte Avenue. The incident left a teenager critically injured.
James Claybrooks, 22, was identified by Specialized Investigations Division detectives as the driver of the vehicle involved in the shooting. According to police, the suspect car had followed a Ford Focus carrying the victims along Charlotte Avenue. As the vehicles approached the intersection, a passenger in Claybrooks’ car opened fire on the Ford. The driver, a 23-year-old woman, was unharmed, while her rear passenger, an 18-year-old male, was critically injured in the attack.
The investigation was advanced significantly after the suspect vehicle was detected by a license plate reader in Lebanon, providing detectives with valuable leads. Authorities are now pursuing the identity of the shooter.
