Late last week, I suggested that the Tennessee Vols should find a way to get true freshman defensive back Boo Carter some snaps on offense.
Tennessee’s offense has struggled to create explosive plays at times in 2024. And Carter, who is easily one of the best athletes in the SEC, has quickly proved that he’s a dynamic player with the ball in his hands.
The former four-star recruit has been explosive in the return game, showing an elite ability to make defenders miss.
Vols redshirt freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava seemingly agrees that Carter should start getting some snaps on offense.
“I’ve been seeing Boo Carter making plays since my junior year of high school,” said Iamaleava after Tennessee’s 56-0 win against UTEP. “Played a couple of 7-on-7 tournaments with him, so I know how special he is with the ball in his hands. And, man, hopefully, we get him on offense in a little bit. So we’ll see .”
When Carter committed to Tennessee in 2023, he told On3 that the Vols promised to eventually use him on offense.
