On Nov. 30 around 11:30 p.m., a driver in a Nissan Altima flagged an officer down and claimed that a man drove up next to him and pointed a large gun at his vehicle while they were driving down a stretch of interstate between Briley Parkway and Old Hickory Boulevard. Officials have not released information about which interstate the incident took place on at this time.
The driver told officers the vehicle proceeded to follow the Altima off the interstate and onto Broadway, reports said.
Two officers located the vehicle described by the Altima driver, in which Bowden was driving. One officer reported that before they performed a traffic stop on the vehicle, it had tried to perform an illegal U-turn.
