A Very Strong Line of Storms Indicated Northwest of Nashville, TN
12/16/24 1:51pm EST
Good afternoon everyone. As forecasted and expected, we are watching a heavy shower and thunderstorm complex developing across parts of Kentucky and Tennessee.
While we do not have any severe thunderstorm watches or warnings at this time, isolated severe weather is still possible embedded within this area moving to the east/southeast. The strongest part of that line is to the west/northwest of Nashville, TN and is expected to be lurking around the metro area within the next 45-90 minutes.
Look for locally damaging winds, frequent lightning, hail, torrential rain, and the risk of an isolated tornado. This was discussed and currently being watched closely by the Storm Prediction Center.
Strong to severe storms will continue to progress east and southeast throughout the rest of the afternoon into the evening hours, then slowly begin to lose steam as the sun goes down.
