Titans projected to land star 40 TD QB to replace Will Levis in 2025

The last time the Tennessee Titans drafted a quarterback in the first round, it didn’t work out like they’d hoped. Tennessee made Marcus Mariota the No.2 overall pick in 2015, but his best season capped out at 3,426 yards with 26 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Mariota’s failure eventually led to the Ryan Tannehill era, which pipelines down to the current spot the Titans are in. They drafted Will Levis in the second round last year, but he clearly won’t be much more than a backup option going forward.

It’s time for the Titans to get serious at quarterback, which is what Andrew Buller-Russ of SportsNaut did in his recent mock draft. Buller-Russ had the Titans select Heisman finalist Cam Ward with the No.4 overall pick.

Brian Callahan gave Will Levis a shot, but it’s become evident that more competition is needed in Tennessee. While Levis has a big arm that could develop more consistency, Cam Ward has an even higher ceiling as a dual-threat QB who also has a cannon arm.

Ward just put on a show in the Pop-Tarts Bowl, throwing for 190 yards and three touchdowns in one half of play. In his first year at Miami, Ward threw for 4,123 yards with 36 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. He also added in four more scores on the ground. Ward has put himself among the best quarterback prospects in this year’s class, sharing the spotlight with Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. He’d be a perfect fit in Brian Callahan’s offense.
