Wags & Walks: Foster program helping animal shelters

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — It’s the time of year we all try to think about those who are less fortunate and how we can make their holidays a little bit brighter. That includes the countless homeless animals in Tennessee. In Davidson County, there’s one organization that’s working with nearly every shelter to make a difference.

At Wags and Walks, you will find a boutique with local goods, painted murals and many dogs looking for their forever homes.

One puppy that is up for adoption now is named Wendy.

“She came in as a stray to Metro Animal Care and Control, and that’s a shelter partner of ours that we visit every single week to take dogs in need. So she’s been with us just a couple of days, still kind of decompressing, but she’ll be available for adoption soon,” says Kathryn Dhall, the executive director at Wags and Walks.

Dhall and her team visit shelters all over Middle Tennessee and help take dogs to give them more space for intake. The dogs then come to Wags and Walks, where they are placed up for adoption.
