Welcoming a new baby is one of life’s most joyful moments, but for some families, the cost of essential items—like a car seat—can overshadow that joy. Ensuring every baby leaves the hospital safely is a top priority at Nashville General Hospital, and thanks to a generous donation from Mitsui & Co. (U.S.A.), Inc. (Mitsui USA), that goal just became a little easier for families in need.
As part of Mitsui USA’s annual Global Volunteer Month in November, employees banded together to collect and donate car seats for new parents at Nashville General Hospital. This year, 36 employees contributed to the initiative, raising $500 and providing much-needed car seats and other essentials to ensure newborns can go home safely and comfortably.
“This donation means the world to our new parents. Imagine the joy of welcoming your baby, only to face the heartbreaking reality that you can’t afford a car seat to bring them home safely. Thanks to the generosity of Mitsui USA and its employees, these families can now focus on what truly matters—caring for their baby and beginning their new journey together,” said Kate Haygood, the Annual Giving Manager at Nashville General Hospital Foundation.
