Tennessee Winter Weather Alert: Snow and 40 MPH Winds Until 4 AM Friday

Morristown, TN – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for parts of East Tennessee, with snow and high winds expected to create hazardous travel conditions through early Friday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Morristown, the advisory covers Southeast Greene, Unicoi, and Southeast Carter counties, as well as the Blount, Cocke, and Sevier Smoky Mountains. Snow accumulations of up to three inches are forecast for elevations above 2,500 feet, with the highest peaks above 5,000 feet potentially receiving more. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph, increasing the risk of falling tree branches and reducing visibility.
