Tennessee Weather Alert: Severe Storms With 70 MPH Winds Hit Nashville From 10 PM Sunday to 7 AM Monday

Nashville, TN — A severe weather event is expected to impact Middle Tennessee overnight, with the greatest threats targeting Nashville and surrounding areas beginning late Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, severe thunderstorms are forecast to move through the region between 10 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday, bringing damaging winds in excess of 70 mph, hail as large as two inches, and the possibility of tornadoes, some potentially strong.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of Middle Tennessee, including Davidson, Williamson, and Rutherford counties, under an Enhanced Risk (Level 3 of 5) for severe weather. Timing varies by location: areas west of Nashville, such as Waverly and Columbia, may see storms between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., while Nashville’s core is likely to be affected between midnight and 3 a.m. Communities farther east, including Tullahoma and Smithville, should remain alert until 7 a.m. Monday
