NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A young man is facing multiple charges after officers say he was found asleep in a vehicle and then tried to bribe them with money to persuade them not to arrest him.
According to his arrest affidavit, medical personnel were called to a vehicle on Thursday morning after witnesses reported a man passed out behind the wheel. The medics managed to get the man, identified as 20-year-old Andrea Shehata, into the ambulance, but he refused to be transported.
The medics then called the Metro Nashville Police Department, and officers responded. They put Shehata through several field sobriety tests, including the horizontal gaze nystagmus, the walk and turn, and the one-leg stand, according to the affidavit. Shehata reportedly admitted to consuming “one or two alcoholic beverages.”…
