Due to what seems to be a system test gone public, a part of the city’s property value data was mistakenly made visible through the parcel viewer. However, the Metro officials were quick to clarify that the numbers that flashed before some residents’ eyes were not the final assessments.
“We have not formally released any new values, nor have we communicated any new values to the public or any individuals,” explained a statement from the Nashville government website. The statement revealed that the exposure of these preliminary figures was an error during the process of system checks, which are conducted to ensure that property owners have the opportunity to fully understand and contest their property valuations if necessary.
