Students accused of starting fire that led to evacuation at middle school in Rutherford County

SMYRNA, Tenn. (WSMV) – A middle school in Rutherford County was forced to evacuate on Thursday due to a classroom fire, according to the district.

Rutherford County Schools reports that a classroom fire prompted an evacuation at Smyrna Middle School.

“First, all students are safe and accounted for. However, we did evacuate all students and employees because of a fire that was reported in one classroom. The fire department is on scene and is investigating the cause of the fire,” RCS reports…
