Investigation of ‘late-night suspicious activity’ leads to 2 arrests in La Vergne

LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — While patrolling in La Vergne, law enforcement reportedly noticed some “late-night suspicious activity,” which led to the seizure of drugs and two arrests.

According to the La Vergne Police Department , shortly before 1:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, officers patrolling near a closed business on Waldron Road spotted a man riding a scooter behind a building. When authorities stopped to check on him, he mentioned there were other people behind the business.

The officers found a parked vehicle with two individuals inside who appeared to be asleep, officials said. Out of concern for their welfare, police approached the car and observed what looked like illegal drugs in plain view through the window.

When the female passenger saw the officers, she allegedly tried to hide the suspected drugs under some clothing. Both individuals — described by authorities as a male with multiple violent felony warrants out of Smyrna, as well as a female with an extensive history involving drug and weapon offenses — were removed from the vehicle and detained…
