NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The suspect accused of killing a woman who was found dead in Hermitage, Tennessee has been identified after a shootout with Georgia law enforcement led to him taking his own life.
Robert E. Smith Jr., 35, of Cookeville, Tennessee, is accused of killing Cassidy Jackson, 23, this past month, Metro Nashville Police Department reports. Jackson was found on the road of Rachels Lane with trauma to her head on Friday, April 11. Her family in Putnam County filed a missing persons report shortly after.
Jackson’s vehicle was found in Atlanta, Georgia earlier this week, the first apparent breakthrough in the case. Smith eventually became a suspect during the investigation, but warrants were not yet secured…
