NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Motorists were backed up for miles Sunday afternoon due to a multi-vehicle crash that shut down a section of Interstate 24 West in East Nashville.
Officials said the three-vehicle crash was reported at approximately 4:38 p.m. on Sunday, April 20 at mile marker 47.6 of I-24, between Spring Street and the Interstate 65 split.
As a result, all westbound lanes, both shoulders, and the entry ramp were blocked on I-24 until shortly before 5:15 p.m., at which point the Tennessee Department of Transportation said one westbound lane and the left shoulder had reopened. However, by 6:20 p.m., that whole portion of the interstate was back open.
Based on TDOT cameras, traffic along I-24 West was delayed past mile marker 49.5 for a while, but it was flowing pretty smoothly by 5:35 p.m…
