Easter costs climb amid rising egg prices

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Whether you’re an egg connoisseur or just like to hunt for eggs on Easter, people in Nashville said they’ve been keeping an eye on egg prices.

“I’ve actually noticed they’ve gone down a little bit. I’m not gonna lie,” DJ Hill told News 2.

According to the Consumer Price Index, the price of a dozen large grade A eggs in an average U.S. city is $6.23. In 2015, the price of a dozen eggs was $2.13.

“My husband will pay whatever price for eggs, and no matter if money’s tight…I didn’t grow up like that. It was always like, ‘What’s the cheapest?’” Nashville native Shonali Bhowmik explained…
