NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department announced an arrest in a deadly West Nashville shooting that occurred last August.

On Saturday, August 17, 2024, 25-year-old Christopher Rhodes was fatally shot while he and his girlfriend were moving furniture into his apartment in the 5800 block of Maudina Avenue. On Thursday, the MNPD said Terry Watters Jr., 41, had been charged in connection with the case.
Police said Watters confronted Rhodes’ girlfriend, apparently in relation to an ongoing dispute. The MNPD said that when Rhodes intervened, Watters allegedly pistol-whipped him.

Rhodes was shot during a struggle over control of the gun; police said Watters fled in a vehicle before officers arrived at the scene. Rhodes was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
