Gun pulled on employees who stop $9K theft at Nashville jewelry store

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A man is arrested after attempting to steal thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise from a jewelry store in the Hillsboro West End area.

Employees at Swarovski Jewelers, 1717 21st Avenue South, locked a man inside on Friday after the store manager reportedly witnessed him put an $8,900 pendant in his sleeve as he helped him, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

The man then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the manager’s head, while threatening the staff, police said. But one of the staff snuck behind the gunman, disarmed him, threw him to the ground, and held him until police arrived…
