Teen charged after Antioch shootout

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A teenager wanted for his alleged involvement in a shootout in Antioch earlier this month has been taken into custody.

Metro police reported 17-year-old Kingston Rice was located Monday while walking on Batavia Street.

Rice was wanted for a car burglary on Smokey Hill Road on Monday, April 7 that escalated to a shooting once the two suspects were confronted by the vehicle owner and his brother, according to Metro police.

The 24-year-old brother was shot in the chest and survived the shooting. Investigators believe Rice was one of the suspects involved after his phone was left at the scene.

According to a release, Rice was walking on Batavia Street Monday when he tossed a pistol and fled from TITANS Unit detectives. He was taken into custody after a pursuit that ended near a home on Elizabeth Jordan Street…
