Hundreds receive free care at Ascension Saint Thomas’ Medical Mission at Home

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The Nashville Fairgrounds transformed into a beacon of healing and hope Saturday morning as Ascension Saint Thomas hosted its annual Medical Mission at Home event, offering free healthcare services to underserved members of the community.

From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., hundreds of patients received medical, dental and vision care on a first-come, first-served basis — no insurance or appointment required. The event, which began in 2007, is designed to bring vital services to those who face barriers to care, including the uninsured and underinsured.

Attendees also had access to behavioral health care, spiritual support, foot and wound care, prescription services, food and nutrition assistance, and help with housing and employment…
