Driver accused of leading pursuit through La Vergne with 2 kids in truck

LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A person is facing multiple charges after he reportedly led a police chase through La Vergne Wednesday night while two young children were in his vehicle.

According to the La Vergne Police Department , Field Training Officer Thiede was stopped at a red light at Murfreesboro Road and Fergus Road just before 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30 when a pickup truck in front “accelerated aggressively, weaving through traffic and narrowly missing other vehicles.”

Authorities said Thiede activated the emergency lights and sirens and tried to perform a traffic stop, but the vehicle drove off, leading to a pursuit through city streets.
