Man kidnapped and beaten at gunpoint; suspect charged

ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WZTV) — A man accused of kidnapping and assaulting another man at gunpoint has been formally charged.

According to an arrest affidavit, Kenardo M. Lamey faces a charge of especially aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon in connection to the November 6, 2024 incident involving victim Cory Beal Jr.

Investigators say Beal was walking near the intersection of Hamilton Cross Drive and Maroney Drive in Antioch around 8 p.m. when a neighbor, believing he might be breaking into vehicles, alerted others. Beal was soon confronted by three men — including Lamey — who approached in a dark-colored BMW. The suspects allegedly used firearms, including pistols and an AR-15 style rifle, to force Beal to sit on the curb before repeatedly striking him…
