NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — For the third time in a two-week span, a weapons detection system has led to the discovery of another loaded gun at a Nashville school.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said the Evolv detection system at Whites Creek High School alerted staff to check a student’s backpack as he entered the school Thursday morning.

Inside the 16-year-old’s backpack, staff reportedly found a loaded handgun with an extended magazine and the serial number scratched off.
