Nashville Police Investigate Possible Robbery-Murder After Woman Found Shot Dead in Car on Wedgewood Avenue

Nashville authorities are neck-deep in an investigation following a deadly shooting incident that claimed the life of 26-year-old Dana Corley. It was at the intersection of 16th Avenue South and Wedgewood Avenue where tragedy struck, and police are now probing the possibility that this was a robbery that escalated to murder. The body of Corley was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds, seated in a crashed black Nissan Altima, early this morning.

According to a release from the Nashville Police Department, sounds of gunfire alerted the Wedgewood area wednesday night, somewhere between the hours of 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. The aftermath saw Corley’s lifeless form, and it was 4:30 a.m., by the time authorities responded to the grim scene.

While the investigators piece together the evidence, they have disclosed that Corley’s phone was recovered near Wedgewood and 21st Avenues. Notably, his wallet was not found at the scene, fueling the theory that Corley might have been the victim of a robbery.
