Multiple rounds of strong to severe storms possible

Very hot and humid weather will continue this afternoon. It’ll remain gusty. Temperatures will soar through the 80s to around 90 in Nashville. Today’s record high is 93, set in 2018, so we’re unlikely to tie or break that.

From late today through this evening, there’s a reasonable chance a few showers and thunderstorms will develop over northwest Middle Tennessee and/or southern Kentucky. Any storms that are able to develop could become severe. Damaging wind gusts will be the main threat. Isolated instances of hail and/or an isolated tornado are also possible.
