Jury finds man guilty in 2020 murder of ex-girlfriend at Donelson apartment complex

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Nashville jury convicted a man earlier this week for his connection to a 2020 shooting at a Donelson apartment complex that resulted in the death of a 29-year-old woman and left another man injured, officials said.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, officers responded to a shooting at Terrace Park Apartments on Dec. 21, 2020. When police arrived, they reportedly found 29-year-old Alexis Douglas and her boyfriend suffering from gunshot wounds.

Douglas, who had been shot multiple times, was pronounced dead, while her boyfriend was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to be treated, investigators told News 2 in 2020.

On Aug. 24, 2021, authorities announced they had arrested James Ritenour—who was 27 years old at the time— at a home on Tucker Road for the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend, Alexis Douglas, in her Elm Hill Pike apartment…
