MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WZTV) — In the ongoing effort to combat crime, Mt. Juliet Police say their license plate reader (LPR) system, known as the MJ Guardian Shield, is proving to be a powerful tool—helping officers make multiple arrests, including suspects wanted in other cities.
Over the Memorial Day weekend alone, police used LPR cameras to track down three drivers in Ford Mustangs clocked at speeds of over 120 miles per hour on I-40. All three men, who are from Nashville, were safely arrested.
