MNPD: Teen in stolen vehicle charged after chase ends in 3-car crash

DONELSON, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 19-year-old is accused of leading officers on a high-speed chase that ended in a multi-vehicle crash after allegedly breaking into vehicles at a Donelson apartment complex on Memorial Day.

According to an arrest report, police were sent to Bexley Donelson in the 100 block of Donelson Pike on Monday, May 26 to respond to a theft in progress. The caller allegedly told authorities that the suspects were traveling in a dark-colored Honda, wearing ski masks and breaking into vehicles in the back area of the complex.

When officers arrived to the complex, they reportedly found two people in a vehicle wearing ski masks, which matched the suspect description. Law enforcement said they gave commands for the driver—later identified as 19-year-old Jayden Ontiveros—to show his hands, but he took off at a “high rate of speed” instead.

An arrest report states that Ontiveros almost hit an officer while fleeing, which would have “resulted in serious bodily injury or death.”…
