Early Sunday morning, a Nashville police sergeant’s routine patrol took a turn when Tyson Oglesby, a convicted drug and gun felon, was arrested after driving a stolen Cadillac Escalade and leading police on a brief pursuit. According to a report by the Metro Nashville Police Department, Oglesby was identified driving the vehicle, which was reported stolen out of Brentwood, with a level of recklessness on Dickerson Pike near Hancock Street.
Despite authorities’ attempts to pull him over, Oglesby chose to not immediately comply, getting onto I-24 in a bid to swiftly evade capture. The chase came to a conclusion when he exited onto 4th Avenue and parked in a lot, where undercover detectives were quick to block the Escalade. When Oglesby exited the vehicle, he resisted arrest but was ultimately detained. A semi-automatic pistol was found on the driver’s side floorboard.
Currently, Oglesby is being held on a bond set at $100,000, facing charges that include felony auto theft, firearm possession, and evading arrest. His criminal history includes two prior convictions, for which he was sentenced to six and four years respectively for cocaine and gun-related offenses in 2020 and 2022…
