Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to speak to Habitat for Humanity Nashville and Wilson County at their annual luncheon. It was a packed house, and as I was going over last-minute changes to my speech, I stopped to hear the testimony of someone who had just gotten a house from Habitat.
Now, if you don’t know, they don’t just give you a house. It is a process. A long process that requires patience, commitment and dedication. Oh, volunteering as well. The lady was talking about the three jobs she had to improve her credit and show that she was responsible and could do this. Before that, you have to go through a pretty thorough vetting process and that is not easy.
