HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — New data from the United States Department of Agriculture shows the excessive deer population in Hendersonville has gone down.
An aerial USDA survey from March of 2023 reportedly revealed 1,212 deer across nearly 70 square miles of the city. That’s a lot of deer, but if you can believe it, it’s a substantial decrease from just two years ago.
“It shows or indicates that we have some improvement. It’s hard to quantify exactly what that looks like because it has been 2 years since the survey has been done,” explained Jerald Barrett, chair of Hendersonville’s Deer Monitoring Committee.
