NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Department of Emergency Communications (DEC) is ready for CMA Fest this week, but they’re urging smarter location sharing.
The DEC, along with members of the Nashville Telecommunicators Emergency Response Team (NTERT), is encouraging the download of the free “what3words” app before heading downtown. They believe it is an easy way to find friends or set up a meeting spot.
The app functions by breaking a map into small squares and gives each one a unique three-word location. Users provide the three words to other members of their party to establish meetup locations, or how to find each other amongst large crowds…
