‘It’s like having a whole new child’: Parade held for young boy who received kidney transplant

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A celebration was held in the streets of a West Nashville neighborhood after a young boy received a kidney transplant.

Less than a year ago, Matthew and Margaret Drewes were desperate to find a kidney donation for their 4-year-old son Everett.

The Drewes said Everett was born with two damaged kidneys as a result of a rare disease called Prune-Belle syndrome, also known as Eagle-Barrett syndrome…
