NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The widow of a U.S. Air Force veteran killed in a 2024 Easter Sunday mass shooting in Nashville was denied state-funded victim compensation for a year. That decision is now under review after Fox 17 News Investigates began speaking with the victim and representatives involved.
Lakendra Beachem lost her husband, Allen Beachem, in the tragedy. He was killed while rushing the suspected gunman who opened fire inside Roasted restaurant in Salemtown, on Easter Sunday. Lakendra was also one of seven people shot that day. Her husband was the only fatality.
She has since suffered permanent nerve damage in her leg and was forced to leave her teaching career…
