NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Metro Transportation and Licensing Committee voted on new rules for party vehicles in downtown Nashville on Thursday.
The new rules include:
- Party vehicles can’t be within one block of schools, daycares, healthcare facilities and places of worship
- That means no pick-ups, drop-offs or regular routes in those areas
- If they have to pass through those areas, they must be quiet (meaning no music or singing)
- The same rule applies by the Music City Center on 6th Avenue and around the Country Music Hall of Fame
- Officials did a study on how party vehicles impact visitors’ experiences at the museum.

“During the measurement program, which lasted about six months, in total, we captured over 1,000 instances of sound measurements in excess of 85 decibels.
