Domestic Violence Suspect Allegedly Chased Victim And Her Toddler On Highway Until She Crashed

A domestic violence suspect was taken into custody in Nashville Tuesday night following a violent assault and a harrowing high-speed vehicle chase of his victim that ended in her crashing her vehicle, police said.

Thaddeus Carmichael, 27, was arrested by Metropolitan Nashville Police Department Violent Crimes Division detectives in connection with the Sunday night incident that left his girlfriend and her 2-year-old son hospitalized with non-critical injuries.

Police said the victim was able to recount the events to a nurse at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Monday, prompting police involvement. According to her statement, an argument with Carmichael escalated at her Goodlettsville home when he allegedly began to physically assault her, strangle her, and threaten her life. Fearing for her safety and that of her child, she fled with her son and attempted to drive to a relatives house, but Carmichael allegedly pursued her in his own vehicle and repeatedly blocked her path…
