A 27-year-old man, identified as Kejarius Dejuan Lawrence, with a prior conviction history, has again found himself behind bars after Nashville detectives caught him driving a stolen vehicle, further complicating his situation by having a loaded handgun on him, authorities reported. Last spotted on 31st Avenue North, the stolen 2016 Volvo XC-90, which was snatched earlier in June and adorned with a mismatched temporary tag, was under the watchful eye of Violent Crimes Division detectives and MNPD Aviation.
Lawrence, reportedly convicted back in 2021 for evading arrest in Coffee County, faced his current arrest without much incident, although not without irony for the ease of his capture, despite efforts to steer clear of the law’s encircling gaze. According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the Glock handgun found inside the vehicle was resting ominously on the driver’s side floorboard, further exacerbating his precarious legal standing.
