Three teenagers were arrested on Thursday evening following an investigation by the Nashville Police Department’s Violent Crimes detectives. The suspects, aged 15, 14, and 16, were taken into custody after the 16-year-old driver of a stolen 2020 Kia Rio stopped outside a Quail Valley Road residence.
According to a Nashville Government official release, during an interview, the 16-year-old admitted to stealing the vehicle, which had been reported missing from a Valley Grove Drive home the previous morning. The young driver now faces charges of vehicle theft and possession of burglary tools, while his passengers are being charged with joyriding.
The discovery of the stolen car is timely considering its steering column had been tampered with, stripped bare of its original form—an indication of the suspect’s determined efforts to commandeer the vehicle.
