June 26, 2025 – A 29-year-old convicted felon is back in custody after a police pursuit early Monday that ended with the recovery of a firearm and drugs.
Matho Collins, who is on parole for previous aggravated robbery and burglary convictions, was spotted by detectives leaving a nightclub on Ewing Lane around 1 a.m. in a Dodge Charger without headlights. When he began speeding on Dickerson Pike, officers tried to pull him over. Collins refused to stop, and an MNPD helicopter tracked him until a spike strip was deployed on Brick Church Pike, deflating his tires.
The chase ended on Broadmoor Drive near Ellington Parkway, where Collins was arrested. During the pursuit, he was seen discarding a pistol and a bag that was later found to contain approximately 20 grams of fentanyl, 28 grams of marijuana, and a digital scale…
