Autistic toddler left alone in truck at Tanger Outlets during 90-degree heat

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man is facing multiple charges after he admitted to leaving a small child in a running vehicle while he went shopping.

According to an arrest affidavit from the Metro Nashville Police Department, officers were called to a parking area at Tanger Outlets Nashville on Cane Ridge Parkway for reports of a distraught child on July 4.

The officers found a 2-year-old child crying inside the truck at the busy shopping mall, while the truck was still running with the windows down, according to the affidavit.
