MNPD: Second teen charged in connection with deadly Dickerson Pike shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A second teenager has been charged in connection with a deadly shooting in a Dickerson Pike parking lot last week.

At about 1:16 a.m. on Monday, June 30, the Metro Nashville Police Department arrived to an apartment complex in the 3700 block of Dickerson Pike and discovered that 16-year-old Demario Anderson had died from gunshot wounds. Police added that Anderson had been wearing a ski mask at the time of the shooting.

Around the same time, MNPD officers responded to a gas station in the 3800 block of Dickerson Pike and found 19-year-old Janiyah Batey inside a wrecked Chevrolet Malibu. She was transported to Skyline Medical Center for treatment of her critical gunshot wounds, but later succumbed to her injuries.

On June 30, 16-year-old Martavious Luster had been charged with criminal homicide in connection with the case. On Monday, July 7, the MNPD announced that 16-year-old Adarian Graham has also been charged with criminal homicide in connection with the incident. As of publication, Graham has been booked into juvenile detention and is being held pending a hearing.
