Briley Parkway blocked at Murfreesboro Road exit due to crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A multi-vehicle crash near the Nashville International Airport has shut down a section of Briley Parkway Saturday evening.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s SmartWay traffic map, an overturned vehicle was reported at approximately 6:42 p.m. on Saturday, July 12 on Briley Parkway at Exit 4 (the Murfreesboro Road exit).

Exactly one hour later, a TDOT spokesperson announced on X that all southbound lanes, one northbound lane, and the exit ramp are blocked because of a crash involving multiple vehicles. However, as of 10:25 p.m., the SmartWay map indicates all southbound and northbound lanes are closed, along with the exit ramp.

Crews are expected to clear the scene by 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 13. In the meantime, the northbound diversion is at Exit 4 and the southbound diversion is at Vultee Boulevard, officials said…
