‘9-1-1 Nashville’ filming in Music City showcases booming Tennessee film scene

The next spinoff of the popular “9-1-1” TV franchise is now filming in Nashville, highlighting Music City’s growing film industry as productions are increasingly moving from the west coast.

“9-1-1 Nashville” will be an action-packed series about the high-pressure lives and work of police officers, paramedics, firefighters and police dispatchers. On Sunday, filmmakers shut down the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge downtown for a scene involving “an Airstream trailer winding up on the top of the bridge by a tornado,” according to Metro Nashville Police Department. The show’s film crew has also been spotted shooting scenes with a fire truck in the heart of Wedgewood Houston.

Set to premiere on ABC in the fall and produced by Ryan Murphy, it is one of the latest TV shows drawn to Tennessee for the culture, incentives and workforce, according to Bob Raines, executive director of the Tennessee Entertainment Commission…
