LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — La Vergne police arrested a man Monday morning after he allegedly smashed a beer can in a woman’s face, which led to a SWAT operation.
A woman reported to the La Vergne Police Department that her boyfriend had physically assaulted her by smashing a beer can into her face, adding that he had also broken a car window where she and her child had been sleeping. The suspect reportedly had a firearm in his backpack and fled the scene in a spray-painted pickup truck.

The LVPD said that due to his prior threats, known warrants and past attempts to evade law enforcement officers, SWAT was deployed. Negotiators made contact, and he eventually surrendered peacefully and was taken for booking.
