Homicide investigation underway after woman found dead on Knight Valley Drive

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman’s body was discovered in Nashville Saturday morning, sparking a “suspicious death” investigation, but now detectives are investigating it as a homicide.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said a man walking his dog spotted the body on Knight Valley Drive near Harding Place on Saturday, July 19. When officers arrived just after 7 a.m., they found the woman’s body — which was covered by a garbage bag — off the side of the road.

According to authorities, the woman appears to have died from blunt force trauma and severe lacerations. Efforts to identify her are still ongoing.

Officials described the victim as “a white woman with black curly hair” who was 5-feet 10-inches tall and 185 pounds with no tattoos.
