Friday afternoon (July 25), Mt. Juliet officers were alerted by their MJ Guardian Shield License Plate Reader system to a stolen Chevrolet Cruz entering the city on Lebanon Rd from Hermitage.
The car was reported stolen out of Oak Grove, KY on July 3 after a fraudulent money order was used to purchase the car. Officers immediately activated a proactive pursuit-prevention plan and safely monitored the vehicle.
When it pulled into a driveway on Nonaville Rd, the car was stopped. The driver took off running from the car, and he was located a short time later in a nearby wooded area after officers secured the area around him. A female passenger was apprehended at the car.

Further investigation revealed that printing equipment used to create fraudulent identification cards, multiple fraudulent IDs, and a system to produce fraudulent checks and money orders were found in the car. The 44-year-old man, who was driving the car, was discovered to be a non-citizen who has been deported from the U.S. seven different times and has returned without authorization. He was also in possession of methamphetamine, and Federal authorities are assisting in the investigation. The passenger, a 41-year-old Jackson, TN woman, was found to be wanted out of three counties: Nashville for failure to appear and a probation violation, Cheatham County for Theft, and Chester County for a probation violation and drug-related charges.
