Casting director seeking 2,000+ volunteers for ‘9-1-1: Nashville’ concert scene

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Have you ever wanted to be on TV? The new series “9-1-1: Nashville” — which is premiering this fall on WKRN and other ABC stations, as well as Hulu — will be filming a huge concert scene next week, sparking the need for thousands of extras.

According to Nashville-based casting director Jenny Alison Rodriguez, the show needs more than 2,000 volunteers to help with the scene at an outdoor music venue in downtown Nashville on Thursday, Aug. 7. The time commitment will be about four hours, with the call time announced the day before.

Even though this is a volunteer opportunity, Jenny Alison Casting said it’ll be an unforgettable experience. Not only will you get a behind-the-scenes look at a real TV set, free snacks and drinks, and a chance to have fun with friends at a televised concert scene, but a major country music star — whose identity will be revealed in the coming days — will be performing live!

Officials have described the newest entry in the “9-1-1” franchise as a high-octane procedure about heroic first responders and their family saga of power and glamour. The series will star Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, LeAnn Rimes, Hailey Kilgore, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz, and Hunter McVey.

Filming, which will take place through early 2026, is expected to generate over $50 million in economic impact for local businesses and labor, creating more than 600 jobs, according to the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.
